Windows to Linux Migration Toolkit

Linux has opened the floodgates to using open source software, but
systems administrators must start by moving away from the
traditional active directory and exchange server to make the most
of these applications, including the latest anti-virus and anti-
spam features. Along with a CD with scripts to automate the
migration process, Allen, with over 25,000 successful migrations on
five continents to his credit, explains the procedure step by step.
He includes information on assessing the methods to take, choosing
applications and services most likely for success, and handling the
usually tricky aspects of such operations as turning off one DHCP
service and starting another, assessing service requirements, and
migrating print services. Allen includes a chapter on groupware and
calendaring services and a desktop migration roadmap. Appendices
take users deeper into network analysis, intrusion detection, and
