William Shakespeare - The Taming of the Shrew AudioBook

The basic story (ignoring the opening induction) is that Baptista has two daughters. One of them is a bitch and the other is a beauty. He refuses to let Bianca(the beauty) be courted until Kate(the bitch) is married off. Biance’s would be courtiers then find a suitor for Kate. Petruchio accepts the challenge, mainly because he wants a rich wife. He ends up marrying Kate and “tames” her. Bianca is then married off to Lucentio.
Thoughts: I have such a love/hate relationship with this play. I have always really liked the beginning and then it annoys me. I don’t want Kate to be tamed. I like when she’s a shrewish bitch. It’s funny. And it just doesn’t ever make sense to me that by refusing to let her sleep or eat, Petruchio would “tame” her. I am not even going to get into her monologue at the end of the play.
The Last of Mohicans AudioBook

Few are not familiar with The Last of the Mohicans. War, "Indians," fight scenes, courage, love and death are all incorporated into this abridgment. While the abridgment is obvious, none of Cooper's rich language is lost. Theodore Bikel is a very suitable narrator for this dramatic work. His deep, clear voice leads the listener along the shadowy forest trails and through the tribulations of the Indians, their allies and captives. Bikel modulates his voice to suit the characters while maintaining the quality and richness of the story. This is a good addition to a collection of classic literature. M.B.K. TTC - Great Economic Thinkers - The Classical Economists - (E.G.West, Audiobook)
The classical economists pioneered a new way of thinking about the uniquely human tendency to produce, trade, consume, and accumulate. Adam Smith (1723-1790) explained how the division of labor expands productive power and argued for freedom in economic affairs; Smith attempted to explain the basis of value, prices, the role of money, and other important concepts related to prosperity and an improved standard of living for all members of society.

Meditation - Self Help - Hypnosis - Stress & Anxiety Relief AudioBook
In this scenario, Stress is simply inevitableand the ever-growing dependence on medications only makes the matters worse.
This excessive Stress could be due to breakup of marriage, death of spouse, work pressures, loss of job, retirement, education or any other factor.
Whatever the reason, there's only one outcome to it -- the person will go through a changeand the mind and body will be forced to adjust to it.
Sherlock Holmes - The Seven Percent Solution AudioBook

Sherlock Holmes is among an elite set of fictional characters who has outlived his creator and even his own written death (The Final Problem1893). Holmes continues to solve crimes as written by a number of authors including this 1974 version, The Seven-Per-Cent Solution by Nicholas Meyer. The book was made into a film in 1976, which I've enjoyed watching a number of times.
One thing that is universal across all these Sherlock Holmes tales (those by Doyle and these later ones) is that the stories are never told from Holmes's point of the view. In the Doyle style, the job of reporting Holmes's adventures falls on Dr. John Watson. Holmes throughout remains too unusual and too superhuman to understand, though Watson and other characters try.

Consummate master of his craft, Stephen King has kept millions awake past midnight shivering at tales that probe the shadows and reveal the dark side. Now listeners can chill to this dramatic unabridged production of 6 short stories from his best-selling book, Night Shift. It brings Stephen King's demonic stories fully to life - and the terror even closer to home.
Lying on the couch in Dr. Harper's office, keeping a close watch on the closet door, Lester Billings relates the bizarre tale of "The Boogeyman" who has taken his children's lives. In "I Know What You Need," a pretty college co-ed finds the perfect lover while on a campus in Maine. A young man thrills to the eerie mists of a murderous "Strawberry Spring." A winter storm hits and a group of old codgers who regularly gather around the Reliable at Henry's Nite-Owl discover the gruesome fate of an old crony in the title story, "Gray Matter." A son, horrified by the grim indignity of death, struggles with his love for "The Woman in the Room," while a hit man, back from a successful assignment, finds himself besieged by a toy army that turns his New York penthouse into a deadly "Battleground."
