One can imagine that men started racing cars almost immediately after Nikolaus Otto invented the internal combustion engine. By the late 1930s, auto racing had more than 50 years to develop into an elegant sport of beautiful machines. Spirit of Speed 1937 sets out to capture that era with its 15 historic cars and nine authentic race circuits from around the world. Players must learn the idiosyncrasies of these handmade cars, all of which appeared decades before antilock brakes, fuel injection, or even automatic transmissions. Each car was extensively researched for its authentic look, sound, and handling.
